Insulation Installer

What they do: Insulation installers add layers of warm material to the walls, lofts and floors of buildings. Good insulation keeps heat in during winter and out during summer, so the heating doesn't have to work as hard.
Why it matters: Many UK homes leak heat like a sieve. Insulating them is one of the easiest ways to slash carbon emissions and help families afford their energy bills.
Typical UK pay: Around £20,000 to £25,000 when starting out, rising to £35,000+ for experienced installers and supervisors.
How to get into it:
• This is a practical, hands-on job— perfect if you enjoy building and fixing things.
• You can do an Insulation andBuilding Treatments apprenticeship, usually straight after GCSEs.
• Short training courses exist for adults wanting to switch into the trade, so it's a fast way in.
