Environmental Involvement for Young People
Better Planet Education a charity providing free access to environmental education to young people and the wider public, offering balanced, factual information through collaboration with schools and teachers.
Our Philosophy
We empower young people to form their own opinions on environmental actions. Furthermore, we endorse respectful questioning of policies and decisions with detrimental impacts on nature, while discouraging disruptive behaviour or civil disobedience. Our overarching goal is to inspire future generations to prioritise environmental stewardship and embrace sustainable lifestyles.
Our History
Originally founded in 1982 and known until August 2024 as the Young People's Trust for the Environment, Better Planet Education is a charity dedicated to fostering young people's understanding of environmental issues and promoting sustainability. We strive to raise awareness among about pressing environmental concerns like tackling climate change, promoting sustainability, ending deforestation, biodiversity loss, pollution, desertification, and ocean misuse. We also provide ways for young people to take action to help the environment, either at home or in school.

Our Team
Our team's key goal is to give young people a real awareness of environmental problems, such as climate change, disappearing wildlife, the pollution of soil, air and water, the destruction of rainforests and wetlands, the spread of desert regions and the misuse of the oceans, and how they can help to make a difference, both now and in the future.
