Large Blue Butterfly: Maculinea arion
Habitat: Officially extinct but formerly the chalk downs of Cotswolds and Cornwall. Colonies have been introduced to Devon and Cornwall.
Food plant: Wild thyme.
Wingspan: about 4cm.
