Food: Food Miles

The food we eat makes up about 30% of our carbon footprint.  Knowing how far it has travelled and how it has been stored is essential if we wish to reduce the environmental impact.

These resources comprise a set of informative teacher notes (including suggested learning activities) that run alongside a Powerpoint presentation filled with images to facilitate learning.  Aimed at Key Stage 3, but also relevant for Key Stages 2 and 4.  Areas covered:
1. Where our food comes from
2. Environmental impacts of transporting food
3. How we can reduce food miles
