Luyanda  is an Economics student at the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom. She is a young leader for the Global Partnership for Education advocating for education and climate change and represented GPE at UNGA80. She is part of the inaugural cohort of Rise Fellows - a program between Rhodes Trust and Schmidt Future which finds outstanding youth at 15-17 years of age and supports them through a lifetime of service through scholarships and opportunities. Her Rise project focused on rural community resilience through sustainable organic farming and she innovated a plant booster for her vegetable garden.

Luyanda has been connecting her environmental passion with policy and addressing the SDGs as she believes all the issues are connected. She believes that passion is not a prison and hopes to tackle the climate change and education crisis through a multi dimensional lens combining knowledge from Economics, Tech, Science and related fields. She believes education is a catalyst for change and meaningful participation.
