Elsa is currently entering her fourth year studying Geography at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). She spent her third year of university abroad at UCLA, taking classes that helped broaden her understanding of how environmental challenges and climate activism vary across political and cultural contexts.

Growing up in Southeast London, Elsa has seen how environmental issues can disproportionately affect certain communities, an experience that continues to shape her academic and research interests around environmental justice. Her undergraduate research has explored the links between air pollution and education outcomes in London, work she sees as a form of advocacy for fairer, cleaner cities. She is particularly passionate about the affordability of sustainable living and hopes to help address the barriers that often make sustainability feel out of reach for lower-income communities.

Alongside her studies, Elsa has worked as a tutor, helping young people engage with and understand complex ideas. She looks forward to furthering her involvement in environmental protection through Better Planet Education and hopes her contribution will support the organisation’s mission of empowering young people to shape our planet’s future.
