How Do We Get to Net Zero?

Getting to net zero is a big challenge! It means:

  • Using more clean energy (like solar and wind power) instead of fossil fuels (like coal, oil, and gas).
  • Driving electric cars instead of petrol and diesel ones.
  • Planting lots and lots of trees.
  • Finding new ways to capture and store the carbon dioxide we create by burning fossil fuels.
  • Being more energy-efficient (using less energy in our homes and schools).
  • Reducing the amount we consume.

It's like a giant team effort, where everyone – countries, companies, and individuals – can help balance the see-saw and reach net zero! Small actions, like turning off lights when you leave a room or adopting greener transport when you’re able to, all make a difference, if enough people do them every day.
